How to renew your membership for the 2018/19 season
Option 1 (strongly recommended): Online Renewal & Payment via the SLSA Online Member Area
Go to – https://portal.sls.com.au
The SLS Member Area will provide your personal details, membership category, awards attained, patrol hours, patrol team and allow you to undertake patrol swaps.
You are able to set up a family group and renew all family members in one place.
We therefore, actively recommend members set up their access to the member area for renewing, if you haven’t already done so.
Option 2 – Renew at the Club Office
Print off and complete the membership form –2018/19 Membership Form
Return form with payment to the club office. Membership fees can be paid by cash or credit card.
The club office is currently open on Monday – Thursday 10.00am – 2.00pm (These hours will be expanded from September)
General Information for nipper parents
As nipper age groups fill up quickly and group numbers have to be closely managed due to water safety and other requirements, nipper registrations including renewals will not be accepted after the 26 October 2018.
To assist us with our planning for the 18/19 Nipper season we would be grateful if nipper parents could renew memberships as soon as possible. Current members will be given priority for nipper places until registration is opened for new members on the 1 September 2018.
The club registration day is scheduled for Sunday 16 September 2018 from 9 am to 1 pm.
General Information for all other Members
To enable the club to commence development of lifesaving rosters, training & education planning, facilitate competition entries and for insurance purposes it is vital your membership is renewed prior to the 30 September 2018.
If you have any questions or require assistance with undertaking your membership renewal please do not hesitate to email or contact the club office.
WWC Check for all GDV members over 18
All General Duties Volunteer (GDV) Members over the age of 18 now require a Working with Children (WWC) Check. General duties can be anything from assisting with equipment set up to handing out a flyer for the club so we would like to see all members obtain their WWC as soon as possible. Non-volunteer(NV) members will be prohibited from undertaking any volunteer or paid duties with the club. This is due to an update of the Surf Life Saving Western Australia Member Screening Policy and applies directly to the Secret Harbour SLSC. The full policy and other information on Member Protection is available in the members section of the SLSWA website
Information on how to obtain a WWC Check is available at https://workingwithchildren.wa.gov.au/applicants-card-holders/applying-for-a-wwc-check/how-to-apply
You can pick up an application form from any Australia Post outlet of from the SHSLSC office. The cost for a volunteer WWC Check is $11 and is payable at Australia Post at the time of application.
Please contact Estee Gordon, Club Administrator at the office between 10am and 2pm Monday to Friday for further information.
